Trauma and chronic pain are often interconnected, shaping how the body and nervous system respond to stress, injury, and daily life. For many people, pain is not only a physical experience, but one influenced by past experiences, ongoing stress, and the body’s protective responses.

Speaker: Katie (Katherine) Finch, Ph.D., C.Psych. (Supervised Practice): Dr. Finch is a clinical and health psychologist in supervised practice at the Michael G. DeGroote Pain Clinic where she provides treatment, assessment, and consultation. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Waterloo and has a special interest in the association between trauma and chronic pain.
